Contractors and trades we help insure
Insurance eligibility and pricing depend on the exact operations, project types, payroll, subcontractor costs, experience, and safety controls. Tell us everything your business does so we can approach the right markets.

Can one policy cover every contractor exposure?
Usually not. General liability, workers’ compensation, commercial auto, tools and equipment, builders risk, professional services, bonds, and excess liability may require separate policies or endorsements.
Do subcontractors need their own insurance?
Many carriers and contracts expect subcontractors to maintain appropriate insurance and provide certificates. The exact requirements vary, so your subcontractor process should be reviewed with your insurance and legal advisors.
Does general liability cover stolen tools?
General liability generally addresses eligible third-party claims, not theft of your own tools. Tools and equipment are commonly insured through inland marine or contractor equipment coverage.
Can MAD Insurance help with certificates?
Yes. Existing clients can submit certificate requests online. A certificate reflects the policies actually in force; endorsements or contract changes may require additional review.
Why does my exact trade description matter?
Insurance carriers classify and price businesses according to their actual work. Disclosing all operations—including subcontracted and occasional work—helps avoid incorrect classification and potential coverage problems.
Can I upload my current policy and loss runs?
Yes. The guided contractor form includes an optional supporting-document upload field near the end. You can attach current policies, loss runs, contracts, certificates, schedules, and related records.
